MB3aPP Infrasound Sensor – 2 pressure outputs

Analogue infrasound sensor with 2 pressure outputs by Seismo Wave

Data Sheet

Description

Manufactured by Seismo Wave, the MB3aPP is an analogue infrasound sensor similar to the MB3a but with 2 pressure outputs for extended dynamic range.

Capturing Low-Frequency Acoustic Signals

The MB3aPP analog infrasound sensor is engineered to record ultra-low-frequency acoustic signals spanning from 0.01 to 28Hz. With exceptional resolution and a large dynamic range, it ensures the comprehensive capture of critical data.

Minimal Instrumental Noise

Surpassing the Low Noise Model by more than 18 dB at 1 Hz, this microbarometer delivers unparalleled sensitivity and accuracy in data acquisition.

2 pressure outputs

This upgraded version of the MB3a sensor offers two pressure outputs set at 2mV/Pa and 20mV/Pa, allowing it to record higher amplitude events thanks to its wider dynamic range.

Applications

This sensor is widely used in multiple scientific, civil and military applications including:

  • Explosions monitoring
  • Volcanology
  • Meteorology
  • Earthquakes
  • Tsunamis
  • Tornadoes
  • Meteors
  • Landslides, avalanches
  • Wind farm emissions
