Biaxial Chamber Hoek Cell

Biaxial compression testing of core sample, typically of over-cored HI cells cores. Core is compressed via the biaxial compression vessel better known as a Hoek cell. The Biaxial cell is modular so changeover kits can be purchased to test multiple sizes rather than buying dedicated cell for each core diameter.

Description

The Biaxial Chamber (or Hoek Cell) and pressurisation pump has been designed for biaxial compression testing both in the laboratory and on site. It is particularly suited to site testing of cores immediately following overcoring of the CSIRO Hollow Inclusion Stress Cell in the determination of Poisson’s ratio and Young’s modulus of elasticity.
