Gecko Tremor Short Period Seismograph

The SRC launched a short period seismograph at the Asian Seismological Commission conference in Melbourne on 25-27 November 2016. The waterproof Gecko Tremor integrates a triaxial velocity sensor with a bandwidth of 2Hz to 1600Hz, which is perfect for local and regional scale earthquake monitoring networks, aftershock deployments, and local blast and vibration monitoring. Connect a 12V battery and you can be recording within minutes of arriving at your survey location. A small gel-cell battery will run the system for days, and a car battery will run it for weeks, recording data continuously.

Portable and rugged, the Tremor uses the simple LCD and keypad interface for full configuration without the need for a laptop. Data is continuously recorded to a removable SD card in MiniSEED format, and the 64GB storage can store over a year of continuous data at 250sps. Add an Ethernet adaptor or cellular modem to stream data back to a data centre computer that will be running our free Streams software application.

Our brilliantly simple Waves application software is freely available for data viewing and analysis.
