Description
Reliability, accuracy, and consistency. The EC1600 brings wide range and high accuracy readings not previously achievable with toroidal electrical conductivity sensors, while avoiding the reliability and accuracy drift issues associated with contact-type EC sensors.
Most salinity sensors quote their accuracy as 2% of full scale range, which means much higher value errors when taking readings in the lower range of the instrument. The average error of the EC1600 is less than 1% of the reading from 1,000 to 100,000µS/cm, and is within several percent of the reading down to 200µS/cm. To illustrate, a traditional salinity sensor with a full scale range of 50,000µS/cm gives an error in your reading of ±1000µS/cm (e.g. 2000µS/cm ±1000µS/cm), but with an average error of less than 1% your 2000µS/cm reading will be within ±20µS/cm. This accuracy is due to our extensive calibration procedures that maps the sensor response over many temperatures and salinity levels.
The EC1600 is be supplied with sealed cable, or can be optionally specified with a waterproof connector. We can also supply the matching cable connector and a custom torque wrench for correct installation to prevent leakage from over/under tightening of the connectors.
